Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University Rams continue the 2018-2019 season, Fordham's 116th varsity season, and their 2019 Atlantic 10 schedule by hosting the La Salle University Explorers in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday, January 23, at 7:00 p.m.
The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Mike Watts (p-b-p) and Andrew Bogusch (color) announcing and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and
www.wfuvsports.org with Emmanuel Berbari (p-b-p) and Jackson Heil (color) announcing.
Fordham enters the game with a 9-9 overall record, 0-5 in the Atlantic 10, and is coming off a 71-68 A-10 loss at George Mason on Saturday night while La Salle is 3-14 overall on the season, 1-4 in the conference, after a 78-67 A-10 loss to Rhode Island in Philadelphia last Saturday.
Wednesday night's contest will be the 56th meeting between Fordham and La Salle on the hardwood with the Explorers leading the all-time series, which started in the 1953-54 season, 38-17. La Salle took both of last year's meetings, 75-67, in Philadelphia on January 17 behind 15 points and eight rebounds from Isiah Deas and 13 points and 14 boards from Saul Phiri, 73-60, on February 24 in the Rose Hill Gym as B.J. Johnson netted 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

• Freshman
Nick Honor is eighth in the Atlantic 10 and eleventh among all NCAA Div. I freshmen, averaging 16.1 ppg.
• Honor has scored in double figures in 16 of the 18 games this year.
• The Rams lead the Atlantic 10, and are 43rd in the NCAA, in turnover margin at +3.2.
• Fordham is third in the Atlantic 10, and 32nd in the NCAA, in scoring defense, allowing just 64.6 ppg after giving up 70.3 ppg last year.
• The Rams are also sixth in the conference in field goal defense, allowing opponents to shoot just .426 (394-924) from the field, including .297 (96-323) from behind the arc, third best in the A-10 and 26th best in the NCAA.
• The Rams are second in the Atlantic 10 with 9.1 three-pointers made/game.
• The Rams are led by two captains in 2018-2019, senior forward
David Pekarek and senior guard
Antwon Portley.
• Fordham is one of the youngest teams in the NCAA Div. I this year with eight freshmen and two sophomores on the 17-man roster.
