Bronx, N.Y. – (September 8, 2018) – The Fordham cross country teams played host to the annual Fordham Fiasco/
Ed Joyce Memorial on Saturday morning at Van Cortlandt Park. The Rams had a good showing in a slightly bigger field than previous years, placing fourth in the women's race and sixth in the men's.
The women's race took off at 9:30 AM with first time participant Lipscomb taking first place with a team score of 25, as they placed five runners in the top ten. Princeton was second at 65 points, followed by Manhattan (76), Fordham (115), St. John's (132), Yale (164), Florida Gulf Coast (190), NJIT (212), LIU Post (264), St. Joseph's (LI) (302), Montclair State (305), Pace (335), and Mt. St. Vincent (351).
Individually, Lipscomb's Courtney Brenner paced the field with a first place time of 17:48.99 over the 5K course, followed by Manhattan's Lisa Fajardo in second at 17:53.77.
For Fordham,
Sarah Daniels was the top finisher in 11
th overall in 19:05.67 with
Laurel Fisher in 16
th (19:24.58),
Bridget Alex in 21
st (20:04.44) and
Kelsey Coppinger in 24
th (20:10.15).
Maeve O'Connor was the next Ram across the line in 21:16.49 (48
th), followed by
Bridget White (53

Jessica Walker-Corbett (83rd - 23:30.0)
On the men's side, Lipscomb also grabbed the team title with a score of 23 points, with Manhattan (69) taking second and Florida Gulf Coast third with 88. Rutgers (117) was fourth, followed by Yale (130), Fordham (160), NJIT (203), NYIT (234), Pace (245), St. Joseph's (LI) (309), and Mt. St. Vincent (348).
Lipscomb's Silas Griffith was the individual winner, clocking in at 25:53.02 over the 8K course. Manhattan's Chad Maier was second in 26:05.60 with FGCU's Lucas Kiprotich in third in 26:07.58.
For the Rams,
Brandon Hall was the first Fordham runner across the line in 11
th place in 26:37.71 with

th, as the Rams compete in the Paddy Doyle Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park, hosted by Iona College.
