Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University football Rams continue their 2018 home schedule, the 118th varsity season at Rose Hill, by hosting the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, September 22, at 1:00 p.m. as part of 2018 Homecoming.
Â
The game will be streamed live on Stadium with Andrew Bogusch (p-b-p) and Ricky Cibrano (color) announcing and broadcast live on WFUVsports.org with Raffaele Elia (p-b-p), Emmanual Berbari (color) and Dominic Muscarella (sidelines) handling the announcing chores.
Â
Fordham enters the game with an 0-3 record, coming off a loss at 28-6 loss to #21/24 Stony Brook on Jack Coffey Field last weekend, while Central Connecticut is 1-2 on the season and is coming off a 41-24 home loss to Columbia last Saturday.
Â
This will be the second meeting between Fordham and Central Connecticut on the gridiron. The Rams took the first meeting, 38-31, in New Britain last year. In the win,
Corey Caddle caught eleven passes for 180 yards and a touchdown and
Lawrence Menyah picked off a pass and returned it 29 yards for a score with 1:27 remaining to provide the winning margin.
Â
A few notes on the game:
Â
• Senior wide receiver
Austin Longi, a Preseason All-Patriot League selection, has 12 catches for 121 yards and one touchdown this year to bring his career totals to 143 receptions, 1,836 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Â
• Longi ranks ninth on the Fordham career reception list, tenth on the career receiving yards list and tied for eighth on the all-time touchdown reception list.
• Senior wide out
Corey Caddle has ten catches for 87 yards and one touchdown so far this season to bring his career numbers to 111 receptions for 1,313 career yards with 14 scores.
Â
• Caddle currently sits in tenth place on the Fordham career receiving touchdowns list and tied for 15th on the career receiving yards list.
Â
• The Fordham receiving corps is not a selfish bunch as 14 different receivers have caught at least one pass so far in 2018.
Â
• The game will be the first of two games this year against an NEC opponent for Fordham.
Â
• The Fordham captains for 2018 are senior defensive back
Dylan Mabin, and senior tight end
Isaiah Searight.
 Â
• No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 50 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Stony Brook (42), Sacred Heart (38), and Rutgers (34), while the NFL's Giants and Jets have 42 and 38 wins, respectively, each.
