Stony Brook, N.Y. – The Fordham cross country teams opened the 2018 season in style at the Stony Brook Season Opener Saturday morning, with the women taking first with a total score of 29 points, while the men took third in the 6K.
The highlight of the day for the Rams came in the men's race, where junior
Ryan Kutch won the 6K in a time of 18:13.70. Graduate student
Brian Cook also ran strong, finishing second in 18:14.81. Also competing were
Sean Sullivan (14
th – 19:16.75),
Patrick Donahue (21
st – 19:51.12),
Nicholas Raefski (27
th – 20:17.56) and
Patrick Dineen (28
th – 20:20.25).
Stony Brook finished first in the men's team standings with a total score of 25 points, followed by Quinnipiac (52), Fordham (60), Sacred Heart (112), St. Francis Brooklyn (133) and Hunter College (176).
On the women's side Fordham was led by
Angelina Grebe who took second place in the 4K in a time of 14:32.74. Also finishing in the top ten were
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski (3
rd – 14:46.25),
Abigail Taylor (5
th – 14:53.75),
Kate McCormack (9
th – 15:11.27) and
Sydney Snow (10
th – 15:12.83).
Germaine Harbaugh finished 18
th in 15:34.27.
Fordham won the team championship, followed by Stony Brook (41), Quinnipiac (62), Sacred Heart (86), Hunter College (158) and St. Francis Brooklyn (170).

th annual Fordham Fiasco/
Ed Joyce Memorial XC Meet at Van Cortlandt Park. Races begin at 9:30 a.m.
