Mikela Ryan Named Head Cheerleading Coach at Fordham University

Bronx, N.Y. – Mikela Ryan, who was a member of the Fordham Cheerleading squad from 2012-2016, was named head cheerleading coach at the university it was announced today.
 
Ryan, who served as a captain for the cheerleading squad as a senior, is currently an Alumni Relation Officer in the Fordham Office of Alumni Relations. She is responsible for working with the assistant director in planning, managing and executing annual Presidential Regional Tours and Summer Send-Offs. She also designs and implements strategies to maximize chapter effectiveness and increase volunteer involvement/leadership.
 
A 2016 graduate of Fordham with a degree in sociology and urban studies, Ryan is currently working on a master's degree in strategic marketing and communication at Fordham's Gabelli School of Business. She served on the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) as an undergraduate and served as cheer coach for grades 5-7 in the Somers School District from 2015-18. Ryan also worked with the CitySquash program as a tutor and mentor.
