Bangor, Maine – The state of Maine is known for many things such as lobsters, blueberries, L.L. Bean and Stephen King. But it was not known for one thing, that is, until tonight: a Fordham men's basketball game. And the Rams had their stay in the Pine Tree state extended by two overtimes before coming up short, falling to the University of Maine, 75-68, in double overtime.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 6-2 on the season while Maine improves to 1-8.
Jalen Cobb led the Rams with 18 points, scoring seven of those in the overtime periods, while
Nick Honor added 16.
The Rams took a 68-67 lead with 1:54 left in the second overtime on a pair of Cobb free throws but those would be the final points of the game for Fordham. The Black Bears scored the final eight points of the game from the free throw stripe to secure the win.
