Davidson, N.C. – The Fordham volleyball team began Atlantic 10 action on Friday night on the road, falling to the Davidson Wildcats in straight sets. With the result, both teams move to an identical 8-6 record on the year.

Fordham battled in the opening two frames, falling in tight 25-22 games, but the Wildcats burst forth with a 25-17 win in set three to seal the victory.

Kaitlin Morley led the way with 13 kills (.300) and six digs, while classmate
Olivia Fairchild chipped in nine (.208) to go with four digs and three aces. The duo each recorded a pair of blocks. Middle hitters
Olivia LaPorta and
Nicole Freeley each tallied three blocks.
Maddy Walsh posted 28 assists, while
Morgan Williams led the way with nine digs. Walsh also served up a pair of aces.

Fordham will finish its long, eight-match road swing on Sunday afternoon with a noon contest at league-leading VCU. The Rams will next be in action in the Bronx a week from tonight, September 29, at 7 p.m. against George Mason.
