Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams, seeded tenth, open play at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship by facing the seventh-seeded George Mason University Patriots Colonials in the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh on Thursday, March 9, at 6:00 p.m.
The game will be broadcast live on the NBC Sports Network with Paul Burmeister (p-b-p) and David Kaplan (color) announcing and can also be heard live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on www.wfuvsports.org with Drew Casey (p-b-p) and James Decker (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
Fordham enters the game with a 13-18 overall record after closing out the regular season with a 66-54 Atlantic 10 loss at La Salle on Saturday afternoon, while George Mason is 19-12 on the season after a 72-60 A-10 loss at VCU on Saturday afternoon.
Thursday night's contest will be the eighth meeting between Fordham and George Mason on the hardwood with the Rams leading the all-time series, 6-1, taking the first six meetings, including a 73-62 win last January in the Rose Hill Gym as
Antwoine Anderson scored a game-high 23 points and
Christian Sengfelder added 16. The Patriots won this year's first meeting, 73-67, on February 11 in Fairfax as Otis Livingston II scored 19 points and Marquis Moore added 15 points and eleven rebounds.
Notes
• Over the past two years, the Fordham University men's basketball squad won 15 Atlantic 10 Conference games (eight in 2015-2016 and six in 2016-2017), one more than the A-10 win total from the previous seven years.
• The 2016-2017 Rams are one of four Atlantic 10 teams to have a winning record in conference road games in 2017 (5-4). The five road wins matches the 2006-2007 squad for most in a season for the Rams.
• Fordham connected on 243 three-pointers in 2015-2016, setting a school mark for most treys in a season. The Rams reset the record this year with 255 made three-pointers to date, the second most of any A-10 school, while the Rams 8.2 three-pointers/game average is third best in the Atlantic 10.
• After recording 263 steals last winter, the fourth most in a single season for a Ram squad, this year's team has surpassed that with 308 steals, the third most in a season in school history (the school record for steals in a year is 350, set by the 1981-1982 team).
• Fordham has recorded double digit steal totals in 18 of the 31 games this year, including
back-to-back 15 steals games against Saint Peter's and Lipscomb.
• Fordham leads the Atlantic 10 and is second in the NCAA in steals/game (9.9).
• The Rams lead the Atlantic 10 and are second in the NCAA with 308 total steals in
2016-2017.
• The Rams are also second in the NCAA in turnovers forced (17.61) and seventh in turnover margin (4.3).
• Sophomore guard
Joseph Chartouny is second in the NCAA in steals/game, averaging 3.36 and is third in the league and 53
rd in the country in assists/game (5.0). He tied his career-high with seven steals against Rutgers.
• Chartouny has set a school record with 94 steals so far in 2016-2017 (former record was 78 by Jason Harris in 1999-2000).

Christian Sengfelder became the 37th player in Fordham history to reach the 1,000-point plateau in the Saint Louis game. He now has 1,046 career points, 33rd on the all-time list.
• Sengfelder is ninth on the Fordham career three-pointers made list with 159.
