Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University Rams close out their 2016-2017 Atlantic 10 regular season, the 114th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by traveling to Philadelphia to face the La Salle University Explorers in Tom Gola Arena on Saturday, March 4, at 2:00 p.m.

Fordham enters the game with a 13-17 overall record, 7-10 in the Atlantic 10, after a 67-66 Atlantic 10 loss to George Washington in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night, while La Salle is 14-14 on the season, 8-9 in the A-10, after falling to Saint Louis, 70-55, in Missouri on Wednesday night.
Saturday afternoon's contest will be the 53rd meeting between Fordham and La Salle on the hardwood with the Explorers leading the all-time series, which started in the 1953-54 season, 35-17. La Salle took the first meeting this year, 67-52 on February 8 in the Rose Hill Gym as B.J. Johnson scored a game-high 26 points. Ryan Rhoomes netted 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the Rams and a 56-53 victory in Philadelphia on February 24 as
Christian Sengfelder scored 16 points and added eight rebounds.
Notes
• Fordham head coach
Jeff Neubauer returns to his alma mater, where he was a four-year letterman with the La Salle basketball program, on Saturday. Neubauer was a freshman on the 1989-1990 Explorer team that went 30-2 and earned an NCAA tournament berth for head coach Speedy Morris. Over his four years at La Salle, the Explorers went 83-36 and earned two other postseason bids.
• Over the past two years, the Fordham University men's basketball squad has won 15 Atlantic 10 Conference games (eight in 2015-2016 and seven in 2016-2017), one more than the A-10 win total from the previous seven years.
• The 2016-2017 Rams are one of five Atlantic 10 teams to have a winning record in conference road games (5-3). The five road wins matches the 2006-2007 squad for most in a season for the Rams.
• Junior forward
Christian Sengfelder became the 37th player in Fordham history to reach the 1,000-point plateau and now has 1,030 career points, 33rd on the Fordham all-time scoring list.
• Sophomore guard
Joseph Chartouny leads the NCAA in steals/game, averaging 3.37 and is third in the league and 50th in the country in assists/game (5.1). He tied his career-high with seven steals against Rutgers.
• Chartouny has set a new school record with 91 steals so far in 2016-2017 (former record was 78 by Jason Harris in 1999-2000).
• Junior forward
Christian Sengfelder has made 157 career three-pointers, the ninth best total in school history.
• Graduate transfer
Javontae Hawkins netted his 1,000th collegiate point in the VCU game, leading the Rams with 22 points in the contest. Hawkins has 1,146 career points as a collegiate (224 at South Florida, 511 at Eastern Kentucky and 411 at Fordham).
• The Rams lead the Atlantic 10 and are third in the NCAA in steals per game (10.0) and are second in total steals (299).
• Fordham has recorded double digit steal totals in 18 of the 30 games this year.
• The Rams are also third in the NCAA in turnovers forced (17.73) and seventh in turnover margin (4.4).
