Men’s Basketball Travels to George Mason on Saturday

Rams looking for fourth A-10 road win of the season

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University Rams continue their 2016-2017 Atlantic 10 season, the 114th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by traveling to Fairfax, Va., to face the George Mason University Patriots in the EagleBank Arena on Saturday, February 11, at 6:00 p.m.
 
The game will be broadcast and streamed live on the American Sports Network with Ed Cohen (p-b-p) and John Griffin (color) announcing and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and www.wfuvsports.org with Matt Murphy (p-b-p) and James Decker (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
 
Fordham enters the game with a 10-14 overall record, 4-7 in the Atlantic 10, after a 67-52 Atlantic 10 loss to La Salle in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night, while George Mason is 16-8 on the season, 6-5 in the A-10, after defeating Davidson, 79-69, in North Carolina on Wednesday night.
 
Saturday night's contest will be the seventh meeting between Fordham and George Mason on the hardwood. The Rams have taken the first six meetings, including a 73-62 win last January in the Rose Hill Gym as Antwoine Anderson scored a game-high 23 points and Christian Sengfelder added 16.
 
Notes
 
• Junior forward Christian Sengfelder was named First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District on Thursday and he will now be placed on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.
 
• Sophomore guard Joseph Chartouny leads the NCAA in steals/game, averaging 3.48 and is second in the league and 38th in the country in assists/game (5.4). He tied his career-high with seven steals against Rutgers.
 
• Chartouny has set a new school record with 80 steals so far in 2016-2017 (former record was 78 by Jason Harris in 1999-2000).
 
• Junior forward Christian Sengfelder has made 144 career three-pointers, the tenth best total in school history.
 
• Graduate transfer Javontae Hawkins netted his 1,000th collegiate point in the VCU game, leading the Rams with 22 points in the contest. Hawkins has 1,061 career points as a collegiate (224 at South Florida, 511 at Eastern Kentucky and 326 at Fordham).
 
• The Rams lead the Atlantic 10 and are third in the NCAA in steals per game (10.2) and are fourth in total steals (244).
 
• Fordham has recorded double digit steal totals in 15 of the 24 games this year.
 
• The Rams are also second in the NCAA in turnover margin (5.5) and turnovers forced (18.42/game).
