Men’s Basketball Hosts Maine on Saturday

Rams host Black Bears on International Day

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University men's basketball Rams continue their 2017-2018 season, the 115th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by hosting the University of Maine Black Bears in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Saturday, December 2, at 2:00 p.m.
 
The game will be streamed on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network with Connell McShane  (p-b-p) and Kenny Ducey (color) announcing and broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and www.wfuvsports.org with James Corrigan (p-b-p) and Tom Scibelli (color) announcing. Follow the links above.
 
Fordham enters the game with a 2-4 record after an 82-77 loss to East Tennessee State in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night while Maine is 1-6 this year after a 76-55 loss at Georgetown on Tuesday.
 
Saturday afternoon's contest will be the third meeting between Fordham and Maine on the hardwood. The two teams split the first two meetings with Maine winning in 2009 and the Rams in 2015 with both games being played in the Rose Hill Gym.

• The game is International Day with the first 200 students in attendance will receive a free international t-shirt.
 
• Fordham student group Slainte halftime performance.
 
• Post game reception for students in the McGinley Ballroom with food from various cultures being served (must attend game in order to gain access to event).
 
• Join fellow Ram fans in the Rose Hill Gym for the Men's Soccer Watch Party starting at 6 p.m. with free food being served.

• Senior guard Will Tavares, who leads the Rams in scoring (17.5 ppg), scored a career-high 21 points against ETSU on Wednesday. He is averaging 19.3 ppg over the past four games.
 
• The 2017-2018 Rams are second the Atlantic 10 in scoring defense (65.3) and three-point field goal percentage defense (.301).
 
• Fordham also leads the league in steals with 72 (12.0/game).
 
• Over the past three years, Fordham is 21-6 in non-conference home games (5-2 in 2014-2015, 9-0 in 2015-2016 year and 5-2 last year).
 
• Overall, the Rams are 24-16 at home over the past two years.
 
• The Rams, who lead the Atlantic 10 and are third in the NCAA with 72 steals, set a school record with 17 steals in the win over Manhattan.
