Bronx, N.Y. – Being the lead event of Homecoming Weekend, the Fordham men's soccer team wanted to make an impression on the crowd at Jack Coffey Field, comprised of alumni, family, friends and Fordham students. Fordham junior
Eric Ohlendorf made the game a memorable one for those in attendance, as he scored with 10.5 seconds left in the second overtime period to give the Rams a 2-1 victory over the Columbia Lions on Friday night.
With the win, Fordham evens its record at 3-3-2 on the season, while Columbia falls to 4-2.
Columbia started the match strong, netting the opening goal in the 12

The score remained in favor of the Lions until the opening minutes of the second half, when Fordham tied the game in one. In the 50
th minute, Columbia was called for a handball on the right side, 21 yards from goal.

In the second session, the Rams cashed in on a Columbia miscue to send the fans home happy. With under 20 seconds left, Loebe took a long shot attempt from the near sideline, that Columbia goalkeeper Zach Adler stopped. However, Adler fumbled the ball right to Fordham's
Eric Ohlendorf, who cashed in from just inside the six-yard box for his second goal of the season.
In net,
Rashid Nuhu earned the win, making five saves, while Adler had four stops for the Lions.
The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Saturday, October 1
st, when the Rams open Atlantic 10 action at George Washington, starting at 2:00 PM.
