With the loss, Fordham fall to 5-10 on the year, while Sacred Heart improved to 3-8.

Sacred Heart opened the scoring in the first inning with an RBI-single by Jesus Medina, scoring Ted Shaw, who reached on a double.

Reiss KnehrFordham knotted the game at one in the top of the third.Â
Reiss Knehr roped his first career triple to right to lead off the inning. After a pair of outs,
Matthew Kozuch singled up the middle to scoring Knehr from third.

It was a pitcher's duel from there as Medina and Fordham's
Kirk Haynes, Jr. continued to put up zeroes for their respective clubs, and the game was turned over to the bullpens by the seventh.

Fordham looked primed to take a late lead in the ninth, as
Justin Bardwell singled with one out and was sacrificed to second by
Ian Edmiston. However, Sacred Heart reliever Jason Foley struck out
Joseph DeVito to end the threat.

In the bottom of the ninth, Sacred Heart loaded the bases with no outs. Following a strikeout, Doyle hit a slow ground ball to second that
Joseph Runco tried to turn a tag double play on. However, the umpire called no tag on the baserunner, which allowed the run to score giving Sacred Heart the 2-1 victory.

For Fordham, Haynes, Jr. pitched well in a no-decision, allowing just one run on five hits with seven strikeouts over six innings.Â
Ryan Remo (1-2)  took the loss, giving up one run on one hit in two-plus innings of work. The Rams managed just seven hits in the game.

The Rams are next in action on Wednesday, when they play at Hofstra, beginning at 3:00 PM.
