Follow on Twitter Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University Rams continue their 2016 Atlantic 10 season, the 113th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, by hosting the La Salle University Explorers in the historic Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday, January 6, at 7:00 PM.

Fordham enters the game with a 9-3 overall record, 0-1 in the Atlantic 10, after a 69-63 league loss at George Washington on Sunday. La Salle enters the game with a 4-7 overall record, 0-1 in the conference, after a 74-67 A-10 loss to UMass in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Wednesday night's contest will be the 50th meeting between Fordham and La Salle on the hardwood with the Explorers leading the all-time series, which started in the 1953-54 season, 35-14. The two teams split a pair of games last year with Fordham winning, 63-48, on February 25 in the Rose Hill Gym behind 14 point and 14 rebounds from
Christian Sengfelder and 15 points from
Jon Severe, while La Salle took the first match-ups, 60-49, on January 17 in Philadelphia as Jordan Price paced the Explores with 15 points while Eric Paschall led all scorers for the Rams with 25 points.
Notes• The Rams have won their past nine games in the historic Rose Hill Gym. The nine-game home winning streak is the longest since a 12-game streak in 1990-1991.
• Senior guard
Mandell Thomas enters the game with 1,255 career points, 16th on the Fordham all-time scoring list. Thomas is 22 points behind Dave Maxwell (1980-1983) for 15th on the list.
• With his nine rebounds in the George Washington game, forward
Ryan Rhoomes brought his career total to 727, placing him in eleventh place on the Fordham career rebounding list. Rhoomes is 16 behind Bill Carlson (1949-1952) for tenth on the all-time list.
• After shooting .415 from the field last year (711-1713), the 2015-2016 Rams are off to a hot start, shooting .471 (333-707) from the field, second best in the A-10. The Rams have also improved on their three-point shooting, hitting 39.2% of their long range shots (104-265), tops in the conference, compared to 30.5% (187-613) last year.
