Men’s Soccer Draws With NJIT

Rashid Nuhu Credited with Three Saves in His Second Straight Shutout

Despite a 15-8 shot advantage, the Fordham men's soccer team could not get on the scoreboard, but then again neither NJIT, as the Rams and Highlanders played to a 0-0 draw at Jack Coffey Field on Saturday night.

The tie puts Fordham's record at 2-3-3, while NJIT moved to 2-4-2.

Fordham had the first scoring opportunity in the second minute, as Kyle Bitterman's header went off the crossbar to Jannik Loebe, who fired high on the rebound.

The Rams then got two saves late in the half from Rashid Nuhu to keep the game scoreless entering halftime.

In the second half, it was NJIT's Marco Luna with a couple of early saves on shots from Andres Penfold and Ryan Cupolo to keep Fordham at bay.

Both goalkeepers would make one more save each, as each recorded the clean sheet.  For Nuhu, it was his second consecutive shutout, making three saves, while it was the first shutout of the season for Luna with four saves.

The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Tuesday, September 29th, as the Rams play at Lehigh, beginning at 7:00 PM.
