(January 16, 2015) - The Fordham University Rams continue their 2014-2015 season, the 112th season of varsity basketball at Rose Hill, and continue their Atlantic 10 season by traveling to Philadelphia to face the La Salle University Explorers in the Tom Gola Arena on Saturday, January 17, at 2:00 p.m.
The game will be streamed live on the Atlantic 10 Digital Network and will also be broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and

Fordham enters the game with a 5-10 overall record, 0-4 in the Atlantic 10, following a 66-55 conference loss at Saint Joseph's on Wednesday. La Salle enters the game with a 9-8 overall record, 1-3 in the A-10, after an 61-50 league loss at Dayton on Wednesday.
Saturday afternoon's contest will be the 48
th meeting between Fordham and La Salle on the hardwood with the Explorers leading the all-time series, which started in the 1953-54 season, 34-13. La Salle has taken the past two match-ups, including a 64-62 win last year on March 1 in the Rose Hill Gym as Tyreek Duran hit a layup at the buzzer to provide the margin of victory. The Rams won the 2011-12 meeting, 67-62, on February 25 in the Rose Hill Gym as Chris Gaston exploded for a career-high 35 points and 16 rebounds and
Branden Frazier added eleven points.
Notes* Fordham freshmen
Eric Paschall and
Chris Sengfelder are the only set of freshman teammates to be averaging more than 10.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg. Paschall is sixth in the Atlantic 10 in scoring with a 16.3 ppg average while also pulling down 6.0 rpg, while Sengfelder is averaging 11.5 ppg and 6.4 rpg. The only other freshman combo that was averaging 10.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg were Purdue's Isaac Hass and Vince Edwards but Hayes is now averaging 10.1 ppg and 4.7 rpg while Edwards is averaging 9.9 ppg, 5.7 rpg.
* The 2014-2015 Fordham men's basketball squad is becoming adept at taking away the ball. Through games of January 15, the Rams are second in the Atlantic 10, averaging 7.5 steals/game, including a season-high eleven in the South Carolina State game on Dec. 31. Junior
Mandell Thomas leads the Rams with 35 steals, ranking second in the conference (2.3/game)..
* Through games of January 15, the Fordham Rams have the Atlantic 10's sixth leading scorer, and top freshman scorer, in freshman guard
Eric Paschall (16.3 ppg) while
Mandell Thomas is second in the conference in steals (2.3/game). The Rams also have the fourth leading rebounder in junior forward
Ryan Rhoomes (8.9 rpg) while
Antwoine Anderson is fifth in assists/game (3.7) and Rhoomes is seventh in the conference in blocked shots, averaging 1.5/game.
