Volleyball Hosts 13th Edition of the Rose Hill Classic

After a very tough opening weekend in San Francisco, the Fordham volleyball team returns to the Bronx this weekend to host the 13th edition of the Rose Hill Classic.  The Rams will welcome Fairleigh Dickinson, Rider and Northeastern for the six-match tournament, which begins Friday at 10:30 AM.

There are four matches scheduled for Friday, beginning with Northeastern versus Rider, followed by Fordham-Fairleigh Dickinson at 1:00 PM, Northeastern-Fairleigh Dickinson at 4:30 PM, and Rider-Fordham at 7:00 PM.  On Saturday, Fairleigh Dickinson and Rider start the session at 10:30 AM, followed by Northeastern-Fordham at 1:00 PM.

This is the 13th edition of the Rose Hill Classic, which began in 2001 and was played consecutively through 2012.  Past champions at the Rose Hill Classic include Fordham (twice), UC-Riverside, Tennessee, Maryland, Idaho St., Tulsa, Seton Hall, Princeton, Syracuse, Albany, and NJIT.

All four teams in this year's Rose Hill Classic look to bounce back from difficult opening weekends, as Fordham (0-3), Rider (0-3), and Fairleigh Dickinson (0-4) are all searching for their first win of the season, while Northeastern is 1-2.

The Rams fell to Georgia (3-1), San Francisco (3-0), and SMU (3-0) at the San Francisco Invitational last weekend, where junior setter Abigail Konovodoff was named to the All-Tournament team.
