George Washington Live StatsThe Fordham volleyball team will get a fresh start on this weekend, as the Rams will begin conference action in the Washington, DC area with match at George Mason and George Washington.
The Rams (0-13) are still in search for their first win of the season, as the team enters conference play. In the team's last match, the Rams played the Dartmouth Big Green in a tight contest, where all set scores were within four points or less.
Fordham opens league play against George Mason on Friday. The Patriots are 4-9 this season and are coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Red Flash Classic.
Fordham faced George Mason twice last season, splitting the season series with each side winning their respective home match, 3-1. They were the first ever meetings between the Rams and Patriots.
On Saturday, the Rams will make the short trip from Fairfax, Virginia to Washington, DC to meet the George Washignton Colonials. The Colonials (9-4) will face Rhode Island on Friday before taking on Fordham on Saturday.
The Colonials have had the Rams' number in the all-time series, which began in 1995, when Fordham joined the Atlantic 10 Conference. George Washington is 29-7 against the Rams, and have won the last four meetings. The Rams last win over the Colonials came in 2011 in five sets.
