Behind a double-double from Kelsie Wills and 41 assists from Hannah Klemm, the Hofstra Pride defeated the Fordham Rams in three sets in the opening match for both teams at the Hofstra Invitational in Hempstead, N.Y.

Final set scores were 25-8, 25-18, and 25-16.

The loss puts Fordham's record at 0-8, while Hofstra improved to 8-1.

The Pride clicked on all cylinders in the first set, posting a .483 hitting percentage with four service aces.

The Rams battled back a bit in the second set, forcing nine tie scores, the last coming at 17 all. From there, Hofstra scored eight of the next nine points to win the set. Three of those points came on Kelsie Wills kills.

Set three saw the score at 12-10 in favor of the Pride, before Hofstra scored ten of the next 12 points to extend a lead they would not relinquish.

Brennan Delsing had five kills, while
Brianna O'Neil notched four kills and five digs.
