Boston College's Isaac Normesinu scored in the first half, while Len Zeugner scored in the second, as the Eagles topped the Fordham Rams, 2-0, at Harvard's Soldiers Field Stadium on Sunday.
With the loss, Fordham falls to 0-2, while Boston College improved to 1-0-1.
After shifting the game's location due to field issues at Boston College, the Eagles were able to take the first lead of the game in the 19
th minute. Ado Kawuba found Isaac Normesinu for a shot that Fordham goalkeeper
Sean Brailey was able to stop, but the rebound went right back to Normesinu for a second chance, which he didn't miss for his first goal of the season.
Fordham got one chance on goal to try to knot the game up in the 43
rd minute, but
Tommy Granot's shot was stopped by Eagles' goalkeeper Alex Kapp.
The Rams' defense did everything they could to keep the game at 1-0 in the second half, registering four blocked shots, while Brailey had four saves over the first 27 minutes.
The Eagles would not be denied a second goal, however, as Len Zeugner tallied his first of the season on a shot from the left side of the box in the 74
th minute.
The game ended in a 2-0 win for Boston College, as the Eagles outshot Fordham 18-4 in the contest, while having 11 corner kicks. Brailey finished with seven saves for Fordham, while Kapp had one for the Eagles.
The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Friday, September 5
th, as the Rams host Lafayette for their home opener at Jack Coffey Field, beginning at 7:00 PM.
