Following a 22-7 campaign that tied the school record for the most wins in a regular season, the Rams will kick off their 2014 A-10 Championship with a game against Duquesne on Friday night at 7:30 PM in Richmond, Va.

SERIES HISTORY: Like many teams in the A-10, Duquesne holds a significant historical advantage against the Rams, having won 18 of the 22 match ups played between the two teams since Fordham joined the league.  Unlike many other teams in the A-10, however, the Dukes have managed to enjoy recent success against a resurgent Rams program, having won eight straight contests against Fordham.

Duquesne was one of the four teams in the Atlantic 10 that Fordham played twice this year, a pair of games that saw Fordham go 0-2.  The Rams, however, did show promise in each of those contests.  On January 8th in the Rose Hill Gym, the Rams trailed by as many as 19 with under six minutes to go before making it a one-possession game by the end of regulation.  That match up with the Dukes proved to be the only time the Rams would lose inside the friendly confines of the Rose Hill Gym this season.  On February 22nd in Pittsburgh, the Rams once again erased a double-digit second half deficit, but eventually fell short, losing by nine to the Dukes.

SCOUTING DUQUESNE:  The Dukes entered the Atlantic 10 Championship as the six seed following a 18-11 regular season campaign that saw them go 10-6 in the league.

Duquesne is led by senior forward Wumi Agunbiade, a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection who averaged 16 points and 7.7 rebounds per game during the regular season.  Against the Rams on January 8th, Agunbiade was unconscious, shooting 10-11 from the floor and finishing the game with 26 points and nine rebounds.

The Dukes feature one other all-conference selection, third teamer Reagan Moore.  The Valparaiso transfer poured in 14.6 points per outing during the regular season, shooting 42 percent from both the floor and beyond the arc.
