The Fordham men's soccer team went the distance on Friday night against the Duquesne Dukes, earning a 1-1 overtime tie on Senior Night at Jack Coffey Field.

With the tie, Fordham finishes the regular season at 6-8-3 overall, 3-3-2 in the Atlantic 10, while Duquesne moved to 8-6-3 on the year, 3-3-1 in the league.

All of the scoring came in the 56th minute.  First, it was Duquesne getting the lead on a cross field pass from Karter Sell to Kadeem Pantophlet, who finished from 15 yards out, just under the crossbar.

Just 30 seconds later, Fordham's first attack after the goal saw Ole Sandnes hit a through ball to Aleksandar Mastilovic on the right side.  Mastilovic then got the one-touch cross right to the foot of Mike McNamara, who scored from eight yards out for his second goal of the year.

Neither team could find the go-ahead goal, but the Dukes came awfully close in the first session of overtime.  In the 98th minute, Dorian Kouame found himself alone on the right side of box, one-on-one with Fordham goalkeeper Sean Brailey.  Brailey came out for the challenge and made the stop on the initial shot.  The rebound then went off a Fordham defender toward goal, but Ryan Cupolo cleared the ball, just before it went over the line.

Only seconds later, Kouame had another opportunity in front of the Fordham goal, but Brailey made a diving fingertip save, grabbing the ball just before it got to the line.  Brailey finished the night with six saves for the Rams, while Sam Frymier had five for the Dukes.

With 11 points in the Atlantic 10 standings, Fordham will now await the results of Sunday's contests to see if they have clinched a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship.  The Rams currently are in sixth place, one point ahead of both, La Salle and Duquesne.  Dayton, Saint Joseph's and George Washington are currently on the outside looking in, as the top eight teams in the regular season standings advance to next week's Atlantic 10 Championship in Richmond, Virginia.
