Brennan Delsing Ties Career-High with 15 Digs to Go With Seven Kills

Saint Louis' Nenye Okoro knocked down a match-high 13 kills to go with seven digs, as the Billikens posted a three-set sweep of the Fordham Rams at Chaifetz Pavilion in St. Louis, Missouri.  Final set scores were 25-16, 25-15, and 25-20.

The loss drops Fordham to 1-20 overall, 1-6 in the Atlantic 10, while Saint Louis improved to 17-6 on the year, 6-2 in the league.

In the opening stanza with the score at 7-6 in favor of the Billikens, Saint Louis went on a 12-4 run to take control of the set, leading 19-10.  Fordham would score four out of five points later in the set to close to within seven, 23-16, but could not get any closer.

In set two, a kill by Molly Oshinski kept Fordham right with the Billikens at 12-10 in favor of Saint Louis.  However, an 8-1 run by the Billikens increased the lead to 20-11, and eventually a 25-15 set win.

The third set saw Fordham jump out to a 6-3 lead, highlighted by kills by Brianna O'Neil and Sarah Skelton, as well as an ace by Brennan Delsing.  Later, Saint Louis would tie the score at 12, and scored five of the next six points to lead 17-13.

After a timeout, Fordham responded with three straight points to get within one, 17-16.  Unfortunately for the Rams, that would be as close as they would get, falling 25-20 in the set.

For Fordham, Delsing tied a career-high with 15 digs to go with seven kills, while O'Neil had nine kills.  Abigail Konovodoff dished out 27 assists and five digs with Grace Muller also having 10 digs.

The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on Friday, October 24th, when the Rams host Davidson at 7:00 PM in the Rose Hill Gym.  It will be the Rams' Dig Pink Night, when fans are encouraged to wear pink and support the Rams' efforts in raising funds for breast cancer research.
