Looking to make it a clean sweep of Philadelphia opponents this season, the Fordham men's soccer team took on the Saint Joseph's Hawks, having already defeated Temple and La Salle earlier in the year.  The Rams got the sweep by posting a 2-0 victory over the Hawks at Jack Coffey Field on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Fordham improved to 5-6-1 overall, 2-1 in the Atlantic 10, while Saint Joseph's fell to 6-3-3 on the year, 1-1 in the league.

After a scoreless first half, Fordham got on the board early in the second half.  Aleksandar Mastilovic put a pass across the face of the goal in the 49th minute, that Saint Joseph's keeper Bobby Edwards got a hand on, dropping the ball right in front of the goal line.  Ole Sandnes jumped on the loose bal for Fordhaml to score from three yards out for his first goal as a Ram.

Fordham almost made it a two-goal lead in the 57th minute, as off a blocked free kick, Mastilovic lined a shot off the crossbar, keeping it a one-goal game.

The Rams would get that insurance marker in the 68th minute.  Kyle Bitterman started the play, hitting a cross field pass to Mastilovic on a nearside run.  Mastilovic then hit a cross, which was knocked in by Andres Penfold for his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

Fordham goalkeeper Sean Brailey and the Fordham defense did the rest to keep the clean sheet for the team's second shutout of the season.  Brailey ended the match with four saves, while Edwards had three for the Hawks.

The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Friday, October 17th, when the Rams travel to Richmond, Virginia, to play the VCU Rams at 5:00 PM.
