Volleyball Opens Home Slate Against Hofstra

After two weekends of play on the road have left them with a 4-3 mark and their best start since 2010, the Fordham volleyball Rams return to the Rose Hill Gym this evening to take on the Hofstra Pride at 7 PM.

The first season of the Gini Ullery era at Fordham has been a productive one so far, with the Rams best performance coming this past weekend at the West Virginia Golden Horseshoe Challenge in Morgantown, W. Va.  There, the Rams compiled a 3-1 record in two days of play, picking up sweeps over Navy and Norfolk State and outlasting Canisius in a five-set thriller.  The Rams' only loss of the weekend came to Big 12 powerhouse West Virginia.

 The Rams have been anchored this season so far by a mix of veteran leadership and young talent.  Senior Lisa Hipp leads the Rams in kills per set with 3.33, while sophomores Brennan Delsing (2.62) and Brianna O'Neil (2.57) are not too far behind.  Senior Sara Konkel tops the Rams with 9.5 assists per set, while classmate Maria Rodenberg anchors the Rams on defense 3.42 digs per set.
