Through one day of play at the Rhody Invitational hosted by URI, the Fordham golf team sits in eighth place out of ten teams.

URI sits in the top spot after Saturday, led by Nick Fairweather's 76 and 77's from Branden Chicorka and Andrew Fiorenzano. Nick Pereira of American International College posted Saturday's lowest score with a 73.

For the Rams, Jason Del Rosso and Jeff Hogan each shot a team-best 77 on the par-71 track. Fordham's other three scorers all finished above 80; however, as Brandon Nolan registered an 82, Brody Nieporte shot an 84 and Ben Alcorn posted an 87.

The Rams will continue play on Sunday at Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
