Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham baseball team continues its string of service projects on Wednesday night, April 24th. After supporting the Wounded Warrior Project and adding their names to the bone marrow registry, Fordham hosts Columbia for its annual doubleheader in one of the longest running series in college baseball. Members of both squads will be taking part in "St. Baldrick's Day," as players will shave their heads in support of the St. Baldrick's Foundation, becoming "basebald" players.

St. Baldrick's is an organization that raises money for children's cancer research. More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease and more than many other childhood diseases combined. Thanks to the volunteer efforts of the Brittany Beauty School in the Bronx and Tony's Barber Shop in Riverdale, Fordham and Columbia players will shave their heads following the doubleheader, which begins at 4:00 PM at Houlihan Park. The shaving will commence around 8:30 PM.

To support Fordham baseball in this cause, donations can be made on the St. Baldrick's-Fordham Baseball page by going here.
