Saint Louis Live Stats
BRONX, N.Y. -
Coming into the weekend with a 7-3 record in conference, the Fordham softball team heads to the Midwest, playing four league games in three days.
Fordham kicks off the week this afternoon, taking on the Billikens of Saint Louis University at 4 PM ET. The Rams and Billikens will meet once more on Saturday at 1 PM.
Following their two game set at Butler, the Rams travel to Indianapolis for a Sunday doubleheader with the Butler University Bulldogs starting at noon.
Before a disappointing two losses to Lehigh on Wednesday, the Rams had been rolling. The had won eight of their last nine heading into Wednesday, with seven Rams hitting at least .300. Currently, six Rams are still hitting over the .300 mark, led by Jamie LaBovick at .426.
In addition to her eye-popping average, the Peoria, Ariz., native is also in the midst of a 24 game hitting streak, a school-record for both baseball and softball.
Looking at Fordham's first series with the Billikens, Saint Louis features no players above the .300 mark. Jessica Van Nostrand lead the Billikens with a .284 batting average with seven doubles and a team-best 15 RBIs.
While the Billikens may not pack much power (Lindsay Friedman leads the squad with four homers), Saint Louis sure knows how to swipe a base. They have registered 52 stolen bases on 62 attempts, good enough for 30th in the nation.
When the Rams head to Indy on Sunday, they'll face a Butler squad that currently sits with a 3-3 record in their first and only season in the Atlantic 10.
Krosley Ogden leads the Bulldogs' everyday players with a .309 average, while Kristen Boros leads the team with 18 runs batted in.
