BRONX, N.Y. -
After a 5-0 week that saw the Rams push to 4-2 in Atlantic 10 play, senior Jamie LaBovick (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain) and sophomore Michele Daubman (North Massapequa, N.Y/Plainedge) each took home an honor from the league, earning conference Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
This is LaBovick's third weekly award of the season and the second for Daubman. This is also the second time this season that duo won Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week at the same time.
LaBovick had a spectacular week at the dish for the Rams, batting an unreal .579 with 11 hits in 19 at bats, driving in three runs and registering three extra base hits. The Peoria, Ariz., native also made history this past week, extending her career-high hitting streak to 18 games, surpassing the school record of 17 games set just last season by Nicole Callahan.
LaBovick also helped the Rams from inside the circle, going 2-0 on the week while surrendering only two earned runs and compiling a 1.08 ERA.
Daubman's honor comes on the heels of a week that saw her mow down opposing hitters with what seemed to be the greatest of ease, putting up a 3-0 mark and allowing just two runs over 20 innings of work.
The Long Island native struck out 13 opposing batters while walking only four and registering a 0.70 ERA in her three complete game victories, inlcuding back-to-back blankings of La Salle and George Washington.
The Rams will be back in action this weekend, facing off against UMass on the road Friday and Saturday before returning home to host URI in a doubleheader on Sunday.
