Men's Basketball Closes Out Season at St. Bonaventure on Saturday at 4:00 PM

St. Bonaventure, N.Y. - The Fordham University men'¬s basketball squad closes out its 2013 Atlantic 10 season with a trip to St. Bonaventure, N.Y., on Saturday afternoon as the Rams face the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies in the Reilly Center at 4:00 PM.

The game will be streamed live at GoBonnies.com and will be broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on the internet at wfuv.org.

Fordham enters the season finale with a 6-24 record, 2-13 in the Atlantic 10, after a 74-55 conference setback to Temple University in the Rose Hill Gym last Wednesday night. St. Bonaventure enters the game with a 14-14 overall record, 7-8 in the A-10, and is coming off a 75-63 conference loss at Dayton on Wednesday night.

On the court, Fordham is led by junior guard Branden Frazier who is leading the Rams in scoring, averaging 14.1 ppg, 14th best in the Atlantic 10, netting double figures in 16 of his past 22 games. He also leads the team in assists with 149, third best in the A-10 (5.0/game), and is tied for the team lead in three-pointers made (43) and leads the squad with 26 steals. Senior Chris Gaston, who returned to action against Butler after missing seven games with an injury, is averaging 13.9 ppg and 7.4 rpg on the year while freshman guard Mandell Thomas is averaging 14.9 ppg over the past eleven games and a team-high 13.4 ppg in Atlantic 10 games. Thomas is shooting 44.2% (19-43) from behind the arc over the past eleven games.

Saturday afternoon's contest will be the 35th meeting between Fordham and St. Bonaventure on the hardwood. The Bonnies lead the all-time series, which started in the 1955-56 season, 20-14 (two St. Bonaventure wins in 2002-03 were later forfeited for use of an ineligible player), and have won the past six meetings. St. Bonaventure won both of last year's meetings, 95-51 in the Reilly Center on January 21 as Andrew Nicholson scored 19 points and added nine rebounds and Da'Quan Cook added 18 points and eight boards, and 89-63 on February 22 in the Rose Hill Gym as Nicholson netted 30 points for the Bonnies while Gaston paced the Rams with 18.
