Track & Field's Sean Collins Named Academic All-Atlantic 10

March 6, 2013

Newport News, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced the 2013 Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team on Tuesday. Among those honored was Fordham junior Sean Collins (Oakland Gardens, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy), who received his first Academic All-Conference Award.

Collins, a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance, made the squad posting a 3.49 GPA.

The junior hurdler had an excellent winter campaign, earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors as a member of the winning 4x400 relay at this year's Atlantic 10 Championship. Individually, he scored in the 400 meter dash as well as the Championship, placing fifth.

At the Metropolitan Championship, Collins was a dual event scorer, placing third in the 60 meter hurdles and fourth in the 400 meter dash.

He capped the indoor season this past weekend at the IC4A Championship, as he was a part of the school record 4x400 relay, which placed tenth overall. The 4x400 relay record was the oldest record on the books at Fordham, having been set in 1939.
