Men's Basketball Faces George Washington on Wednesday at 7:00 PM

Washington, D.C. - The Fordham University men'¬s basketball squad continues its Atlantic 10 season with a trip to the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night as the Rams face the George Washington University Colonials in the Smith Center at 7:00 PM.

The game will also be streamed live at Watch (Fee Required) and will be broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on the internet at wfuv.org.

Fordham enters the game with a 6-20 record, 2-9 in the Atlantic 10, after a 68-63 conference setback to #11 Butler University in a sold out Rose Hill Gym on Saturday afternoon. George Washington enters the game with an 11-12 overall record, 5-5 in the A-10, and is coming off an 84-57 conference loss at VCU on Saturday.

On the court, Fordham is led by senior Chris Gaston, who returned to action against Butler after missing seven games with an injury, scoring a team-high 21 points and grabbing six rebounds. He is averaging 14.5 ppg and 7.9 rpg on the year. Junior Branden Frazier leads the team and is eleventh in the Atlantic 10 in scoring (14.6 ppg) and also leads the squad and is second in the conference in assists (5.2/game). He became the 35th player in Fordham history to score 1,000 career points in the Saint Louis game. Freshman guard Mandell Thomas is averaging 16.6 ppg over the past seven games, 13.9 ppg in Atlantic 10 games, and is shooting 52.0% (13-125) from behind the arc over the last five games.

Wednesday night's contest will be the 26th meeting between Fordham and George Washington on the hardwood with the Colonials leading the all-time series, which started in the 1914-15 season, 19-6. Fordham won last year's meeting, 63-58, in the Rose Hill Gym on January 28 as Branden Frazier scored a game-high 20 points and Chris Gaston added 16.
