The honor marks the first weekly award for Rooney in her Fordham career, but that is not to say she has not brought home her fair share of hardware. Last season she was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 and First Team All-Metropolitan, in addition to earning a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Tournament Team. Rooney also found a place on the Preseason All-Conference First Team prior to this season.

The redshirt senior also went 4-5 from beyond the arc in the opener.
