Bronx, N.Y. -
Fordham University senior offensive lineman Lloyd Morrison (Teaneck, N.J./Bergen Catholic) has been selected to play in the 2013 Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game on Friday, January 11. He is the only Patriot League player to be invited to the game.
Morrison is a three-year starter on the Fordham offensive line, starting all eleven games at left guard for the Rams in 2012. He helped the Fordham offense average 435.7 yards/game, second best in the Patriot League and 20th best in the NCAA FCS while the Rams scored 31.2 ppg, second in the league and 31st in the NCAA FCS. The Rams also had the second ranked passing offense in the Patriot League in 2012, averaging 279.6 yards/game, 18th best in the NCAA FCS.
This will be the second Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game, an annual post-season football exhibition of draft eligible college seniors. The game provides a platform for selected, elite athletes to showcase their talents to scouts from the NFL, CFL, and Arena teams.
Last year's roster produced six NFL draft picks including the 98th overall pick, Gino Gradkowski, who went to the Baltimore Ravens. An additional 61 players off of the 2012 roster entered NFL training camp in July.
The 2013 Casino Del Sol All-Star Game will be held at Kino Stadium in Tucson, Arizona, and will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks including ESPN3 and WatchESPN.com.
