Fordham University senior Sean Atkinson (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth Regional) and junior Titi Fagade (Rutland, Mass./Wachusett Regional) were named the Atlantic 10's Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Performers of the Week respectively today by the league office. It is Atkinson's fifth career weekly honor from the conference, and the second for Fagade.
In their first competition of the new year, Atkinson and Fagade both posted ECAC/IC4A qualifying times at the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday in the 500 meter run.
Atkinson won the 500 meters in an IC4A qualifying time of 1:03.55, while Fagade won the the women's 500 meter run in an ECAC qualifying time of 1:14.38.
Atkinson also added a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash in a season-best time of 22.48 seconds. Fagade came back later in the meet to run a leg of the women's 4x400 relay, where Fordham placed fourth in 4:11.76.
Atkinson, Fagade, and the rest of the Fordham track & field team will next be in action on Friday, January 11th, when the Rams take part in the NYU Gotham Cup, held at the Armory Track & Field Center.
