Rams Face Off Against Eagles on Friday Afternoon

Washington, D.C. - After splitting two games in the Fordham Holiday Classic, the Rams kick off 2013 on the road, heading down to our nation's capital to take on the Eagles of American University.

Friday's game marks the second of three games played by Fordham against Patriot League opponents in a ten day span. The Rams opened up the Fordham Holiday Classic against Lafayette on December 29th and will host Jesuit rival Holy Cross on Sunday in the Rose Hill Gym.

SERIES HISTORY: The Rams and Eagles will meet for the fourth time when the two teams take the court on Friday afternoon. American holds the advantage in the all-time series, having bested the Rams in their last two meetings, played in 2006 and 2007. Fordham took the first matchup between the two squads in 1993.

SCOUTING AMERICAN: The Rams will face a tough test when they head into Bender Arena to take on the Eagles. Coming off a 23-8 record a year ago with a perfect 14-0 mark in the Patriot League, the Eagles have won seven of their 12 contests this year, including a win over Atlantic 10 school George Washington. American also boasts a clean sheet at home this season, having won all three games played on campus so far. Offensively, the Eagles are led by Jen Dumiak, who averages a team-best 14.2 points a game. The 5'10" sophomore from La Costa, Calif., has started all 12 games this season and has broken the 20 point mark three times. Dumiak is joined in the backcourt by Alexis Dobbs, as 5'5" sophomore guard who has averaged nearly 12 points per game. Perhaps what's most impressive about this duo is not only their penchant for putting points on the board, but for holding onto the ball as well. Both Dumiak and Dobbs have dished out more assists than turnovers this year, boasting 1.1 and 1.4 assist to turnover ratios, respectively.
