Limited Number of Tickets Remain for Men's Basketball Game with Rhode Island on Saturday

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's basketball Rams continue the home portion of their 2013 Atlantic 10 schedule on Saturday afternoon when they host the University of Rhode Island Rams at 1:00 p.m. in the historic Rose Hill Gym. A limited number of tickets remain for the game so get your tickets now through the Fordham Ticket Office by calling 855-RAM-TIXS (855-726-8497) or online by clicking here. Fordham cannot guarantee that tickets will be available at the door on game day.

Saturday is also Hall of Fame Day at Fordham as ten new members will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony prior to the game, including three former members of the men's basketball program: Wayne McGuirt '65, Frank McLaughlin `69 and former head coach Tom Penders. The new Hall of Famers will also be introduced to the crowd at halftime of the basketball game. For more information on Hall of Fame day, click here.

Fordham enters the game with a 5-14 record, 1-3 in the Atlantic 10, after a conference loss at Dayton on Wednesday night. Rhode Island enters the game with a 6-11 overall record, 1-3 in the A-10, and is coming off a 66-65 conference setback to George Washington University in Kingston on Wednesday night.

Saturday afternoon's contest will be the 58th meeting between Fordham and Massachusetts on the hardwood with Rhode Island leading the all-time series, which started in the 1941-1942 season, 34-23. The two teams split a pair of games last year with Fordham winning, 66-64, in the Rose Hill Gym on January 18 behind 19 points from Branden Frazier and 18 from Alberto Estwick, including the game-winning three-pointer with 28 seconds left, while Rhode Island won, 78-58, at the Ryan Center on February 29 with Anthony Malhoit netting a game-high 21 points and adding nine rebounds.

On the court, Fordham is led by junior guard Branden Frazier, who is averaging a team-high 15.8 ppg, eighth in the Atlantic 10, and he is averaging a team-best 5.2 assists/game, second best in the A-10. Senior forward Chris Gaston, who missed the Dayton game with an injury, is averaging 14.0 ppg and a team-high 8.1 rpg while freshman guard Mandell Thomas is averaging 9.3 ppg in Atlantic 10 games and 6.0 ppg on the year.
