Rams in Fifth After First Round of Colgate Invitational

Round One Scores

Hamilton, N.Y. - The Fordham golf team had three first place finishes in 2011, and they started off the 2012 season with a fifth place showing, out of nine teams, after the first round of play at the Colgate Invitational from the Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, New York. The Rams' combined 320 score, led by Brandon Nolan'seven par round of 72, puts them eight strokes behind fourth place Lemoyne at 312.

Youngstown State leads the team competition, with a score of 301, while the Penguins' Bill Gaffney paced the field with a score of 71.

The five golfers competing for the team competition for Fordham are Jason Del Rosso, Connor Monaghan, Pat Herlihy, Jeff Hogan and Brody Nieporte. Individual competitors include Ben Alcornand Nolan.

The Rams combined 320 saw scores of 77 from Del Rosso, 80 from Monaghan, 81 from Herlihy, 82 from Hogan and 83 from Nieporte. Alcorn posted an individual score of 82.

The second and final round is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM on Sunday, September 9.
