Golf Sits in Tenth PLace at the 2012 MacDonald Cup

Day One Results

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham golf team is in New Haven, Connecticut, this weekend for the 2012 MacDonald Cup, hosted by Yale University. After day one, the Rams are tenth out of 15 teams, after an opening round score of 291.

Central Connecticut leads the team competition with a one-under-par score of 279, followed by St. John's (280), Yale (282), and Notre Dame (282).

Individually, it is a pair of Central Connecticut players at the top of the leaderboard. Monte Mullen leads the field, following an opening round of 66, while teammate Dan Fanion shot a 67.

For Fordham, Connor Monaghan was the top performer on day one, shooting a two-over-par 72, which is tied for 27th. Brandon Nolan, Jason Del Rosso, and Jeff Hogan all shot a round of 73, good for a tie for 34th, while Brody Nieporte is tied for 59th, after a round of 75.

The MacDonald Cup will conclude play on Sunday.
