SERIES HISTORY: This is the sixth all-time meeting between the two Jesuit Institutions with Fairfield having won the previous five meetings.
LAST TIME OUT: Three first half goals by the Dartmouth Big Green proved to be too much for the Fordham women's soccer team on Sunday at Jack Coffey Field, as Dartmouth posted a 3-0 win over the Rams.
Fordham looked for some early chances on two corner kicks in the first two minutes, but all three shot attempts by the Rams were blocked.
Dartmouth then capitalized on its second shot of the game, as Emma Brush crossed the ball to Corey Delaney for a shot to the top left corner from 18 yards out for a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.
Just 1:12 later, the Big Green scored again off a pass from Brush. This time, Brush found Marina Moschitto for a half volley shot to the right side of goal for a 2-0 edge.
Everything continued to go Dartmouth's way later in the period, as in the 26th minute, the Big Green were awarded a penalty kick, following a hand ball in the box by Fordham. Chrissy Lozier then stepped to the penalty spot and scored her third goal of the season.
Fordham would change goalkeepers at halftime, bringing in Ally White, who made five stops in the second half to try and spark the Rams, but Fordham was unable to find the back of net against Dartmouth goalkeeper Tatiana Saunders.
The Rams' best chance came in the 74th minute after a Kristina Maksuti blocked shot, Ivana Lahcanski picked up the loose ball and fired it just over the crossbar of an open net.
WHO'S NEXT: The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action at home on Sunday, September 23rd, when the Rams take on the Loyola Greyhounds at 1:00 PM.
