2012-13 Non-conference schedule

Bronx, N.Y. - While the start of the season is still months away, the Fordham women's basketball team has released its non-conference schedule. The team will also host the sixth annual Fordham Holiday Classic on December 29-30.

The Rams enter 2012-13 season off the heels of a 2011-12 campaign that saw them set a new record for non-conference wins (nine) since joining the Atlantic 10. Fordham opens 2012 upstate as they take on a pair of repeat opponents from 2011, beginning with the defending American East Champions, and NCAA Tournament participants, the University at Albany on November 9. They will then travel to take on Cornell on November 11.

The home opener is against the Delaware State Hornets at the Rose Hill Gym on November 18. The Rams defeated the Hornets, 63-48, in Dover last year.

The team spends the Thanksgiving break on the west coast, facing fellow Jesuit school San Francisco on November 21 and WNIT participant, the University of the Pacific on the 23rd. After a quick return trip home to face Bronx rival, Manhattan, in the annual "Battle of the Bronx" game, Fordham heads back on the road to open December against Big East and Jesuit School, Marquette, on November 28. The Rams will then visit local rival, Yale on December 4.

Following the game with the Bulldogs, the Rams return home for three straight contests, beginning with Stony Brook on December 8. Southern University will then come to the Bronx for a game on December 10 and Morgan State visits Rose Hill for a matchup on the 16th.

Fordham will hosts its sixth-annual Holiday Classic on December 29 and 30 at Rose Hill Gymnasium. This year's participants include Providence, Lafayette and Colorado State.

The Rams will open the New Year in Washington, D.C.; as they take on 2012 WNIT participant, American University on January 4 and will close out non-conference play with their third Jesuit opponent, Holy Cross on January 6.

The schedule features a pair of Big East teams, three Jesuit schools and five teams who participated in post-season play.
