Larchmont, N.Y. -
As the dog days of summer continue to roll along, Fordham water polo head coach Bill Harris will once again take part in Swim Across America raising funds for cancer research on Saturday, July 28th.
Making it an annual tradition, Harris will once again participate in the four-mile Long Island Swim event for Swim Across America, which will take place in Westchester County on the final Saturday in July, as swimmers will go across Long Island Sound in support of raising funds for cancer research.
Swim Across America is a nationwide program dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer research, prevention, and treatment through swimming-related events.
This particular event which begins at the Larchmont Yacht Club in Larchmont, N.Y., the "Sound Swim," has gone from raising $15,000 in its first year to $1.2 million in 2011, when over 600 swimmers took part. The Long Island Sound Swim is one of the oldest and continues to be one of the largest in all of the Swim Across America events.
To help the cause and support Coach Harris' efforts on July 28th, you can go to the Swim Across America Long Island Sound Events Website and donate.
Best of luck Coach Harris!
