When Alabama came to the Bronx on Monday, the Crimson Tide became the highest ranked team to visit Bahoshy Field and when the Rams knocked off the visitors, it marked the highest ranked opponent defeated by a Fordham softball team.

It's been a hectic week for the Rams, who left yesterday for the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship, being played today through Saturday at Saint Louis University. Fordham, seeded second, will look to defend its title beginning on Thursday as the Rams will face the winner of today's Temple-Saint Joseph's game at 4:30 PM (EST).

Prior to the beginning of the tournament, six Rams were honored by the Atlantic 10 as seniors Lindsey Kay Bright and Jen Mineau, junior Jamie LaBovick, sophomore Elise Fortier and freshman Paige Ortiz were all named First Team All-Atlantic 10 while freshman Brianna Turgeon, along with Ortiz, was selected to the All-Rookie team. Additionally, Mineau was named Academic All-Conference. Click here for the full release.
