Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham volleyball team announced its 2012 schedule on Thursday, as the team will play 34 matches and compete in four early season tournaments.

The Rams begin their season with a tournament at Boston College on August 24-25, taking on Big 12 opponent, Texas Tech in the first match, followed by matches with Siena, host Boston College, and Binghamton.

Fordham then has its home opener on August 29th, when Big East opponent, Rutgers comes to Rose Hill. It will be the first of four mid-week home matches for the Rams this season, as Fairleigh Dickinson (Sept. 4), Lafayette (Sept. 11), and St. Francis (NY) (Sept. 25th) round out the home dates. The Rams will also have two mid-week road matches against Hofstra (Sept. 18) and Rider (Nov. 7).

The Rams' next tournament will take place on September 1-2 at Marist with match-ups against the Red Foxes, NJIT, and Hartford, while the last road tournament at Bucknell is on September 14-15, and has games against Bucknell, Providence and Quinnipiac.

Fordham's final tournament for 2012 will be the 12th annual Rose Hill Classic, as the Rams will play host to nine matches over two days on September 7th and 8th. Fordham will welcome Cornell, Stony Brook, Bucknell, and NJIT for the two-day event.

The Rams will play a re-vamped 14-match Atlantic 10 conference schedule, seven at home and seven on the road, which begins at Rhode Island on September 22nd. Fordham also plays matches at Saint Louis (Oct. 5), Charlotte (Oct. 7), George Washington (Oct. 12), Duquesne (Oct. 14), Dayton (Oct. 26), and Xavier (Oct. 27). The Rams' home conference matches include La Salle (Sept. 28), Temple (Sept. 30), Charlotte (Oct. 19), Saint Louis (Oct. 20), Duquesne (Nov. 2), George Washington (Nov. 3), and Rhode Island (Nov. 10).

The season will end at the Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be hosted by Duquesne University November 16-18.
