Ten Questions with Fordham Coach Hubbard

Bronx, N.Y. -

The success of the Fordham University men's tennis team under head coach Cory Hubbard hasn't gone unnoticed as he is featured in the latest news on the Tennis Recruiting Network (tennisrecruiting.net ), the premier site for junior tennis.

Hubbard has led the resurgence of the Fordham men's tennis program, guiding the Rams to a 17-10 overall record in 2011-12, the most wins for a Fordham men's tennis team since the 1995-96 squad went 18-3. One of those wins was at the Atlantic 10 Championship where Fordham opened played with a 4-3 win over Saint Louis at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, Fordham's first win at the championships since 2006. The win advanced Fordham to its first Atlantic 10 quarterfinal appearance since the Rams joined the conference in 1995-96.

Fordham players Kuba Kowalski (Krakow, Poland/Piarist Gimnazyum, Srikar Alla (Hyderabad, India/Pendleton School) and Mischa Koran (Basel, Switzerland/Gymnasium Baumlihof) were all named All-Atlantic 10 at the end of the season with Kowalski being named to the first team while Alla and Koran were placed on the second team. They became the first Fordham men's tennis players to earn All-Conference honors since Chris Kelly in 2002. All three recorded more than 20 singles wins this season, led by Alla who was 23-9 while Kowalski finished 21-9 and Koran was 20-6.
