Nicole Callahan and Jen Mineau Recognized by the Atlantic 10

Newport News, Va. - Fordham University seniors Jen Mineau (Schaghticoke, N.Y./Hoosic Valley Central) and Nicole Callahan (Freehold, N.J./Freehold Township) took home Atlantic 10 Softball Co-Pitcher of the Week and Player of the Week, respectively, it was announced by the conference on Monday. Mineau earns the weekly honor for the third time this season while Callahan captured her first weekly title of the campaign.

Mineau had a stellar week for Rams, going 3-1 and highlighting it with her tenth career no-hitter, a 5-0 perfect game against Temple on Saturday. Mineau went seven innings and struck out 15 in the shutout. She also threw a pair of complete game wins over Saint Joseph's, a 1-0 shutout on Thursday and a 4-1, eight-inning performance on Friday. Mineau also came out of the bullpen to throw one and-a-third scoreless innings to pick up her first save of the season in a relief appearance against Binghamton on Wednesday.

For the week, Mineau tossed a perfect game, picked up three wins and a save and posted a strikeout to walk ratio of 48:1. On the year, Mineau is 18-9 with a 1.69 ERA. She has thrown 23 complete games, has six shutouts to date and is holding opponents to a .186 batting average while striking out 265 in 182.2 innings. Mineau leads the Atlantic 10 in ERA and innings pitched and is tied for first in wins.

Callahan was equally as impressive at the plate as Mineau was in the circle, connecting on a pair home run on the week, the first against Binghamton and the other versus Temple. She batted .400 (8-20) last week with the two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored. Callahan collected a base hit in all six contests last week, including a multi-hit games against the Bearcats and Owls. Additionally, Callahan didn't strikeout at all during the six-game stretch.

On the year, the second baseman has raised her average to .294, and she is second on the team in doubles (ten) and on-base percentage (.366).

The Rams, currently 23-17 overall, and 9-1 in the A-10, step outside of conference play for a doubleheader against Siena at Loudonville, New York, on Wednesday, April 11, at 2:00 PM.
