April 26, 2012

Bronx, N.Y. - The Mid-Major All-American Team selected by CollegeSwimming.com was released this afternoon with three Fordham swimmers among the honorees. Junior Brienne Ryan (New Windsor, N.Y./Cornwall) was named to the women's Mid-Major All-American Team, while senior Courtney Collyer (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph's by the Sea) and junior Devon Morris (Kirkland, Wash./The Bush School) were named Mid-Major Honorable Mention All-America. This is the second straight season that Ryan and Collyer have been acknowledged by CollegeSwimming.com, as both were Honorable Mention selections last season, while being the first time for Morris.

The All-American group earned the honor based on their qualification for the 2012 NCAA Division I Swimming Championships. Honorable mention selections are swimmers who were entered with NCAA `B' standards, but not selected for the 2012 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships.

A U.S. Olympic trials qualifier, Ryan earned All-Atlantic 10 honors in seven events this season, while setting three individual school records, as well as one relay record at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship. She was the Atlantic 10 Champion in the 50-yard freestyle event (23.18), as well as in the 800 freestyle relay, and also earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events, the 200- and 400-yard medley relay, and the 400-yard freestyle relay.

She capped her season at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championship, competing in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, finishing 20th and 17th, respectively.
