Bronx, N.Y. - A little bit of a rain this past Sunday did not deter the Fordham women's and men's soccer teams from hosting a free soccer clinic for the South Bronx United Soccer Club on Murphy Field.
The kids from South Bronx United received one versus one instruction on basic soccer skills, participated in a game on Murphy Field, and were able to ask questions to the college players about their experiences as a student-athlete at Fordham.
This is just one of the many community service projects that Fordham student-athletes have been involved with over the last two weeks, which included the baseball team raising over $4,000 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, the football team raising a garden at St. Martin of Tours Church on Crotona Avenue the Bronx, and all Fordham student-athletes participating in the "Reps for Kids" Charity event, which will take place on Thursday.
