2012 Peacock Invite
Neshanic Valley, N.J. -
Despite a raging storm ripping through the metropolitan area over the weekend, the men's golf team managed to play in the 2012 Peacock Invitational and finish fourth of 12 teams at the Neshanic Valley Golf Club. The Rams finished in a tie with Manhattan at 303, 14 strokes behind the winners and hosts, St. Peter's College, who posted a winning score of 289.
Among the competitors, Fordham's Brandon Nolan finished tenth overall with a one-over-par 73 on the day. Brian Engstrom shared 13th place with a two over, 74, while Ben Alcorn shot a 77, which put him in 26th, Pat Herlihy a 79 (good for 39th) and Nik Andresen put up an 84, as the senior competed in his final event for the Fordham golf team.
The 2012 Peacock Invitational puts an end to a regular season that saw the Fordham golf team win two spring events and finish in the top five in two other competitions.
The team returns to action on Friday, April 27, when they travel to the Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Springs, Florida, to compete in the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship. The team is looking to improve upon its seventh place showing at the 2011 A-10 Championship.
