2012 Fordham Women's Soccer Printable Schedule | On-Line Schedule

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham women's soccer team announced its 2012 schedule today, which will feature ten non-conference games and nine Atlantic 10 contests. Included in this year's schedule, the Rams will play three NCAA teams from a year ago, as well as teams from the Big East Conference, the ACC, and, for the first time, the Big 10 Conference, as Fordham begins the season in Michigan.

This will be the fifth straight season that Fordham will have a major non-conference road trip, following excursions to North Carolina (2008), Nevada (2009), Florida (2010), and Texas (2011) over the past four seasons.

Fordham will open its 20th season of varsity play in Big 10 country, as the Rams will meet opponents from that conference for the first time in program history. The Rams face off against the Michigan Wolverines in the season opener in Ann Arbor on Friday, August 17th, and then travel to East Lansing for a Sunday afternoon match against the Michigan State Spartans.

Fordham begins its home schedule on Friday, August 24th, when the team hosts crosstown rival, Manhattan College, at 7:00 PM on Jack Coffey Field. That game begins a three-game home stretch, as the Rams host Marist, who made the NCAA Tournament last season, on September 2nd, followed by a date with St. John's on September 7th.

Fordham will then hit the road for two more non-conference tilts. The team will play at Maryland, who made the NCAA Sweet 16 last season, on September 9th, marking the fourth straight season of having an ACC opponent on the schedule, and then travel to Columbia for a night match on September 14th.

The Rams finish non-conference play with three consecutive home games against Dartmouth (Sept. 16), Fairfield (Sept. 21), and Loyola (Sept. 23).

Fordham begins a nine-game Atlantic 10 conference schedule on Friday, September 28th on the road at George Washington. The Rams will also face Richmond (Sept. 30), an NCAA Tournament team, La Salle (Oct. 12), Temple (Oct. 19), and Saint Joseph's (Oct. 21) on the road this season.

In a rare scheduling twist, all four conference home games will be doubleheaders with the Fordham men's soccer team. The Fordham women will host Charlotte (Oct. 5), Saint Louis (Oct. 7), Duquesne (Oct. 26), and St. Bonaventure (Oct. 28).

In addition to the 19 regular season games, Fordham will have one exhibition contest at Seton Hall on August 11th.

After missing out on the conference championship the last two seasons, the Rams will look to return to the Atlantic 10 Championship in 2012, which will be held in Kingston, Rhode Island.
